CAMERA READY beauty secrets | SEATTLE SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER

Today I’m giving away ALL of my secrets as I walk you through exactly what it is that I do to get a flawless (looking) face! I like to mix high end products with affordable ones. Some things I think you can definitely go
cheap on & some things I consider to be more of an investment. A few of the higher end products I have, like mascara, lip gloss & highlighter can totally be duped out for cheaper versions, I just happen to be using the spendier ones right now. Once I run out of my endless pot of High Beam, you better believe I’m replacing it with the E.L.F version! It just lasts forever!! Ok! Let’s get started, shall we?
  • 1. Starting out with a clean face is so important! I’m lazy, so face wipes are my jam. Purity wipes are super gentle, super deep cleaning & even tone & lightly moisturize. No tight skin when you’re done with these babies!
  • 2. Moisturize! This dramatically different moisturizer works really well with my dry, dry, dry skin.
    • 3. Primer! You’ve gotta prime. It’s how you get a smooth application. Smooth away pores, smoth away fine lines & get a more even, longer lasting foundation application.

    4. Prime the eyes! Urban Decay Primer Potion is the best primer ever & I have yet to find an adequate dupe. This one is Anti-Aging, too! Never to early to start preserving your wrinkle free eye, younglings!

    5. Neutogena Shine Control Makeup. Great coverage, yet still super light weight.

    6. Hello Flawless. I love this powder. So smooth & pretty. It’s mineral based and comes with SPF 15. Oh yeahhhh!

    7. I just bought this blush at forever 21 for $3.80. Does the trick!

    8. Will I ever need another eyeshadow pallet? Naked Basics is the shiznit. I normally rock a cat eye & this pallet helps me achieve the perfect nude lid! I even fill in my brows with the matte taupe shade! Poifect!

    9. High Beam is so gorgeous on cheekbones. It also lasts 300 years

    10. I love lipstick! But on a regular day where I just want a good, cooling, plumping gloss, Buxom is AMAZE. BALLS. Favorite lip gloss ever. My husband does refuse to kiss me when I wear it, however. He does not like the tingle.

    11. Tools of the trade! Good brushes change everything. Eco Tools are affordable, eco friendly & ROCK.

    12. Any clear mascara would do here, but I just happen to have this fancy shmancy Anastasia brow gel. Keeps my unruly brows in check.

    13. I love Clinique mascara. The ones with the skinny-tipped brush are the best. Lashes fa dayz!

    14. This gel eyeliner by Maybelline is so easy to apply, lasts forever & looks great! Extra points to gryffindor!

Hope that was helpful! I’ll revisit more of that in depth in the future with my new installment: Beauty Tip Tuesday! I am an artist at heart & makeup is a passion of mine! Can’t wait to share all of my tips & tricks!

  1. Lovely tips! Thanks so much for sharing these. I must check out that mascara. Sounds amazing. X

  2. I love high beam! I can never figure out how to apply it to cheek bones after foundation though… If you rub it it smears your make up!

I currently put it on the bridge of my nose, and on the cupids bow of my lips. Love love love that dewy look.
